Inside the Shoot
Haley loves cows. So much that she really wanted to include her favorite dairy cow, #360, in her senior portraits. She wanted a photographer that had worked with animals and understood the amount of patience required to work with bovine subjects. Michelle's unique experience with tigers, bobcats, lions and other wildlife gave her the tools to be prepared for any request.

The shoot began in woods near Haley's house. She wanted a few images in each outfit, including a boho jacket, a ball gown and an off-the-shoulder shirt and jeans. We set up a bench in the cow pasture, on bricks to prevent a muddy mess. With Haley in her ball gown and #360's handler holding the heifer from behind the bench, we got several great shots in the creamy light, and more in the golden sun. Michelle did a few shots utilizing the props around- a leather halter, a fencepost, hay bales and the cow trailer before looking for other scenery. The goal was to get as many unique shots that were fun and meaningful to Haley while taking advantage of the warm autumn sky.
